A new range of mobile phones are to be introduced by Samsung that look to offer a greener option for consumers.
Mobiletor reports that the South Korean electronics manufacturer is set to launch its latest model, the Samsung E200 Eco, following its recent unveiling at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
The site notes that the E200 Eco is made up of a bio-plastic casing and uses a range of natural plant-based materials that the company claims saves a significant amount of CO2 emissions in its production.
It adds that the handset will be packaged in a recycled paper box and no glossy coating will be used. "Samsung has been striving to come up with devices which will not cause any harm to the environment," the site concludes.
The Samsung E200 Eco is due to be rolled out across Europe next month, although no details have yet been released as to its network availability or pricing.
Samsung also launched the Omnia this week.
